Thornberry Releases Lab Results IntegrationLANCASTER, Pa. (August 6, 2009) - Thornberry Ltd recently released integrated lab results in its NDoc product. Home care and hospice organizations now can have lab results automatically imported to NDoc and attached to the patient record. Abnormal lab results trigger an email to the case manager. This functionality ensures every patient with abnormal lab results receives prompt attention - improving care and outcomes. "Thornberry is committed to releasing a true EMR for home care and hospice in the very near future. This takes us one step closer," said Tom Peth, president and co-founder for Thornberry. "This is the result of Thornberry truly collaborating with its clients to deliver an outstanding product." Agency productivity also increases. Clinicians no longer manually enter lab results into the patient chart. This functionality was thoroughly field-tested at Twin Tier Home Care, a division of United Health Services. Clinicians previously were required to review paper copies of the lab results in the office - resulting in unnecessary time out of the field. Lab results can now be viewed from the field on clinicians' laptops. This has increased the amount of time available to see patients and reduced mileage. In fact, due to the cumulative impact of multiple technology improvements, the clinicians are so seldom in the office now that the organization removed their desks! Staff morale has improved as clinicians are able to set their own schedules and work from home. Our goal is to constantly make our staff more productive, more effective through technology," said Joe Cerra, chief executive officer at Twin Tier. "Not only does the agency win, but our patients receive even better care with improved outcomes. We will continue to improve through technology and are grateful for our partnership with Thornberry." The case study can be viewed on line. To learn more about how automated lab results could benefit your agency by calling 717. 283.0980 or email.
