The homecare industry has a dirty secret. There is a lot of inefficiency and waste. Not because anyone is raking in ridiculous bonuses, taking luxury trips on the agency's dime or buying $27,000 umbrella stands. No, our waste is far more mundane.
It's clinicians spending several hours a day in the office completing paperwork and other processes. It's the cost of paper, ink, clerical time and filing space to maintain paper records. Waste is found in too many missed appointments and the list goes on and on.
St. Luke's Health System in Boise, Idaho agreed to regain efficiency and eliminate waste by launching a technology strategy. By implementing NDoc, Thornberry's management information system, they recognized a substantial increase in productivity and revenue.
"Moving from paper to electronic has had a significant impact on our financial picture. Since we've launched NDoc, we've seen about a 37% increase in our profits and we benefited from increased staff productivity. Our clinical staff went from 1-2 visits a day to 4-5 visits a day," said Mary Lou Long, Executive Director of Community Services for St. Luke's Health System.
Where is waste hiding in your organization? Let Thornberry help you develop a technology strategy that will increase efficiency and profits so you have more time to focus on patient care.
