Pain Management Tools for Hospice Providers Sets the Stage for Upcoming Regulatory Requirements

July 13, 2012 (Lancaster, PA) – As a leader in software solutions for homecare and hospice providers, Thornberry has released its latest version of NDoc with new pain management tools for hospice providers. This is the next generation of NDoc Software for Hospice solutions.

“Hospice providers are preparing for the upcoming CMS changes in October this year,” said Tom Peth, CEO of Thornberry. “Our strong investment in our NDoc Software for Hospice solution gives the growing Thornberry family the right technology platform to adapt and succeed. Our latest release is an example of how we deliver intelligent automation capabilities that help hospice providers significantly enhance patient care and capture required information.”

At the upcoming NAHC Financial Management Conference in Dallas, TX as well as at the HCAF Conference in Orlando, FL, the latest release of NDoc Software for Hospice will be available for demonstration including other innovations in this release:

  • Visit Charting for Pain Management – which incorporates documentation of CMS Hospice Quality Reporting NQF #0209 Comfort in Dying Measures for the initial assessment and 48/72 hours after initial assessment, for better patient management and data capture.
  • Visit Charting Hospice Eligibility and Recertification – improved features to require documentation and ensure compliance with eligibility requirements at start of care and recertification.
  • PECOS enhancements – a new report for quick review of both active physicians and inactive physicians with prior enrollment.

“Thornberry continues to focus on solutions that continue to keep its customers in compliance with current regulatory requirements, but sets the stage for upcoming regulatory changes.” said Peth. “By doing so, this enables hospice providers to meet patient needs today and plan for the future related to resources, access to information and better patient care.”
